Artists Bio:

Deborah Peltier was born in Boston Massachusetts in 1950
Deborah has always been interested in images of landscapes and creatures near to her. She took several art classes in college -then there was a long hiatus in active artwork.
Deborah completed medical school and training in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics and practiced as an internist and geriatrician for 38 years. As a result of a horse accident, Deborah was out of action for 4 months. A friend took Deborah painting weekly and Deborah has been painting since. She continues riding and her favorite subjects are horses and the landscape surrounding her . She has shown paintings at the Dartmouth faculty art show.
The creative process begins outside in the field or at the barn,watching the horses, her own or friends’ horses.. She does action sketches en plein air. She paints from sketches and from photographs .Sometimes she draws the painting first, sometimes she paints without an outline.
Now retired, Deborah is returning to the art world after her medical career and has sold paintings of horses and Vermont landscapes. She has done 4 commissioned works of horses or landscapes since she returned to painting in earnest in January 2019.
Deborah lives and works in Thetford Center Vermont, surrounded by fields, hills and animals domestic and wild.
