Artists Bio: The storytelling aspect of visual art has always absorbed Marcia's creative process: a narrative captured in a single frame; the tiny pause as a storyteller inhales; the snapshot instant that tells it all. This is the challenge that currently influences her work.

Originally trained as a medical illustrator, Marcia transitioned to freelancing and fine art which has opened up her subject matter and artistic direction. Because she grew up around horses, she has often been captivated by the paradox of grace and power that horses possess. Her focus over the last few years has been a series on draft horses in Vermont but this year, she's transitioning in a totally new direction by exploring the dynamic energy found in the gritty streets in South Philly.
